Coleraine is where our business started and where our showroom is, open by appointment. When you book a survey in Coleraine you're dealing with a local family business, not a regional sales office, and the people who measure your home are the same people who fit it. 02 ### Getting to you Because we're based in the town, Coleraine jobs are about as close to home as it gets for our fitters. When you call, we'll tell you honestly when we can visit for your survey once you accept your quote and give you a realistic fitting date once your products are ordered. 03 ### Homes we see in Coleraine Coleraine has a real mix of housing: older terraces and townhouses near the centre and along the River Bann, mid-century semis, bungalows on the edges of town and in the surrounding countryside, and newer developments and self-builds. Each type has different needs, from like-for-like replacement windows in a terrace to a full wall of bi-folds on a new kitchen extension. ### What Coleraine homeowners ask us for Kitchen extensions and garden doorsMany Coleraine homeowners are extending at the back and want the kitchen to open onto the garden. Origin bi-fold and sliding doors are the most common requests we get for this. Replacing tired windowsIn older Coleraine homes, original or early replacement windows are often draughty and hard to open. Slim aluminium windows bring back light and comfort without heavy frames. Why choose us ## Why Coleraine homeowners choose P Black and Son We supply and fit products from manufacturers rather than making our own, so our advice is about what suits your home in Coleraine, not what we need to sell. Origin aluminium is our best seller; RK Steel is our main steel brand, and we also supply Palladio and Bel'M. ### On your doorstep We're a Coleraine business with a showroom in the town, open by appointment. ### 15 years' experience Fifteen years of supplying and fitting windows and doors for homes across the area. ### One team throughout The family team that surveys your home also fits it and handles aftercare. Local challenges ## What Coleraine homes are up against ### Property types Terraces and townhouses near the town centre often have narrow openings and character features worth keeping. Choosing slim frames and the right finish matters so new windows suit the building. ### Climate Coleraine sits only a few miles inland from the north coast, so it gets plenty of wind-driven rain. Correct sealing at installation is what stops water getting in around frames. ### Riverside and damp Homes near the Bann and lower-lying parts of town can be prone to damp air. Cold, failing frames attract condensation, which leads to mould on reveals and sills. ### Building age Older properties may have openings that are out of square or lintels that need checking. We assess this at survey so there are no surprises on fitting day. Local guide ## Planning your project in Coleraine ### Planning a project in Coleraine Because we're based in the town, Coleraine customers can easily combine a showroom visit with a home survey. Many people start by booking an appointment at Altikeeragh Road to see finishes, handles and glass types up close, then we come out to measure. That two-step approach works well for bigger projects such as a kitchen extension with bi-folds, where seeing the product in person makes choosing colours and configurations easier. ### Town-centre and riverside homes Properties close to the town centre and along the Bann often have narrower plots, limited rear access and features worth keeping, such as bay windows or traditional proportions. Slim aluminium frames let you keep those proportions while getting rid of draughts and condensation. Where rear access is tight, we plan delivery and installation during the survey so large panels can be brought in safely without surprises on the day. ### Newer estates and self-builds around Coleraine On the newer developments around the edge of Coleraine, and in the self-builds in the countryside towards Macosquin, Articlave and Aghadowey, the most common requests are large garden doors and full sets of matching windows. On a new build, talk to us before the openings are finalised: sizing openings around the product gives you the widest choice of door configurations and the slimmest sightlines.
